Rotary Projects at Daisy School (Update)

Strathcona Sunrise Rotary club built 50 student desks and 10 teachers desk through a District Simplified Grant in 2009. We are pleased to report the desks are still there, being heavily used.

Cumberland Rotary paid for windows to be installed with iron grates. All are installed, looking good and working well.

Cumberland also contributed to the building of a well. The contractor abandoned the job too soon and the well only produces 4-5 buckets of water per day before requiring 24 hrs to recharge.

Despite this they have addressed their water shortages thanks to a grant from a US NGO.

The school is working properly with 306 students, a 140 of which are boarders. Many are handicapped. They could use many things but they are benefitting very well from Rotary support. We will keep them in mind, but for now are not high priority.
