Just got back from a deliciously warm, hilly 30 minute jog around our area. Saw some breath taking extreme poverty at the same time as enjoying a run. Saw lots of garbage and amazing scenery. Weird paradoxes I know. Hard to explain. I took some pics that I will upload later. I think it is good to be here, good to see it all and it is good to run. In fact many of these nooks and crannies can only be visited on foot and only by running can I see so many.
Ok, gotta get dressed and go do some good. Today we drop in on Daisy School where in 2009 Rotary and our friends had 55+ desks built for over 160 kids, including special desks made for handicapped kids. Rotary built the basic 55 desks. Wayne & Sharon, Cheryl J. and CWG friends added funds so that each desk could get upgraded with a shelf (important) and build 18 customized desks for (severely)handicapped students.
I want to ensure desks are still there, that they lasted and say hi to a couple friends we made there. The Daisy principal we dealt with got fired for corruption last year. His assistant Alfred we also worked with in 2009 now has principal position. We are told our projects were unaffected. It will be good to see and to look in on results of RC Cumberland's efforts to supply a well and windows in 2010.
